Halloween Pet Parade

2977975483_38fbbbbdccThere still is some time to go out and buy or make a Halloween costume for your pet to wear at this year’s Halloween Pet Parade. The festive event raises money for the Capital Area Humane Society and is spooktacular fun!

In order to participate, dogs must be on a leash, cats must be on a leash, harness or carrier, and all other animals must be contained or held. Dogs must be registered and vaccinated and all animals must be spayed or neutered.

Registration: $25.00 general public and $20.00 for CAHS member
On-line registration available
Registration/Judging: 12 noon – 2:00 pm
Parade: 2:00 pm
Prizes awarded after parade
Prize categories include:
• Best Animal Impersonator: Dress a dog as a frog or a cat as a pig.
• Best Character: Dress your pet as a superhero, cartoon character or famous celebrity personality.
• Most Colorful Costume: Go wild with color on your pet’s costume.
• Most Creative Costume: Let it be a surprise!
• Best Duo or Group: Dress your pets alike or as a famous pair like Sonny and Cher (each pet needs to be registered to participate)
• Scariest Costume: Dress your pet as a scary spider or creepy character.
• Prettiest Costume: For the pets who like to dress up like princesses.
• Most Humorous Costume: The pet costume that makes us laugh.
• Best Overall : The costume with the “wow” factor.
• Top Fundraiser : Help support homeless and abused animals in our community.
