be_1 Looking for an “All American” activity? Don’t miss the Annual All Horse Parade in Delaware this Sunday. Boasting the largest horse parade east of the Mississippi, the yearly parade officially opens the Delaware County Fair.

The All Horse Parade, sponsored by the Hiram Masonic Lodge #18 has been a yearly event since 1986. It features 550 horses, mules and donkeys along with 141 horse drawn carriages and the Heinz 8 horse hitch. Honestly, the most entertaining for me is the college students going behind the horses with their big shovels and buckets which in itself has become a sport to watch. It is truly a parade for all ages and inspires a “good to be American” feeling.

Parade leaves Delaware County Fairgrounds at 3:00 P.M. Travels East on Pennsylvania Avenue, South on Sandusky Street, West on Winter Street, North on Liberty Street, West on Lincoln Avenue, and North on Euclid Avenue, returning to the Fairgrounds. Admission is free!
