Morton’s recently introduced “Bar Bites” – 7 of their appetizer specials, available for only $6 each in the bar area, 5pm-close, every day.
Yes, Morton’s, the pretty pricey fancy steakhouse located at 220 North High Street and slightly hidden far back (part of the Morton’s exclusivity charm.)
I had a chance to sample all of their bar bites last night and I have to say, a combination of any two of these (or maybe just even one for a light eater) is a full meal. That’s a $12 meal if you’re keeping up.
Here’s what’s on the bar bites menu:
- Three Miniature Crab Cakes with mustard mayonnaise
- Iceberg Wedge Bites: Bite-sized wedge salads with tomato, egg,
bacon and blue cheese dressing
- Chicken Goujonettes: Crispy fried chicken strips with mustard
mayonnaise
- Three Prime Cheeseburgers: served on silver dollar rolls with
lettuce, tomato and purple onion
- Jumbo Lump Crab, Spinach & Artichoke Dip: served with toasted
French bread croutons
- Four Petite Filet Mignon Sandwiches with mustard mayonnaise
- Blue Cheese French Fries: Melted blue cheese, red pepper flakes and
chives

My favorites/my dinner recommendation: three prime cheeseburgers (the equivalent of one 9oz burger) with the blue cheese fries – the blue cheese is to DIE for. Any combination would be a winner, though, and definitely at a winning price.
Their “Power Hour” drink specials, again 5pm-close daily in the bar area, rangs from $4-7 – and again, pretty darn affordable.
So get dressed up, head out to Morton’s and enjoy a meal for a whole lot less than you thought you could.
