Oh yes, I am all about the passenger rail. I can think of no better way to start my morning than NOT having to drive to work. It would be incredible to just be a passenger, reading or tweeting and enjoying the ride.

Definitely with you on this one Walker.

I drove on it tonight for the first time this week, and didn't think it was that bad. Traffic was a little slow at 45mph for those three miles, but otherwise it was fine.

What I'm more bothered by is the fact that no one flinches at spending $24 million on three miles of minor road maintenance work, but so many torches and pitchforks come out whenever we start talking about investing in passenger rail.

There's a great existing rail line that runs parallel to 315 that would be a great alternative to driving up and down this stretch of road every day. And when existing infrastructure is used for passenger rail it keeps the cost very low. We could have something very similar to the Music City Star running through that area for a very small dollar-per-mile ratio.

Bring it on! :D
